The upcoming third installment of the Thor franchise will feature a cameo appearance of its own director, Taika Waititi.

According to a report from AV Club, Waititi has revealed the information at a gala honoring him on Tuesday. However, he stayed mum on how exactly he will figure into Thor: Ragnarok's storyline.

"It's not like a thing that I've ever planned, but now I'm in all of my movies in a small role or a larger role," the director said.

"I'll probably just keep doing that. It's like a dumb thing I do now."

Cameo appearances in the Marvel movies are not uncommon today. Comic book legend, Stan Lee, has been popping up left and right in almost all Marvel films released in the past decade. As of last year, The Business Insider reported that Lee has already done 28 cameo appearances. His very first was in 2000's "X-men," where he played as a hotdog vendor and the most recent was in "Doctor Strange" where he appeared as a bus passenger.

No word yet if Lee will also be joining Waititi on his cameo in "Thor: Ragnarok."

"Thor: Ragnarok" is one of this year's most anticipated films from the MCU. According to Marvel, the third installment will find an imprisoned Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok-the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization-at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela (Cate Blanchett). But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger-the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

Rounding up the cast are Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Karl Urban as Skurge and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will arrive in theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
