"Sleepy Hollow" stars Tom Mison who Janina Gavankar released a tease photo on Instagram. Fox boss teased that Season 4 will have fresh stories to tell and new adventures with new characters.

Ichabod Crane (Mison) will work closely with Diana Thomas (Gavankar) to fill the void left by his partner last season. In July, it was confirmed that Diana will join the upcoming season as a Secret Service agent for Homeland Security who will be introduced in The Basement.
Thomas is someone who has a take-charge personality with a wry sense of humor. Her tough exterior is complemented by softer and more caring side towards her daughter, Deadline reported. According to the released character description, Thomas and Crane will clash at the beginning before finding a common ground because of their shared sense of loss.
In Season 3, Crane's partner Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) died in the line of duty to bring down Pandora. Fox entertainment president David Madden conceded that Mills was one of the foundations of the show at the Television Critics Association press tour. He went to say that writing the character off was a "very hard decision," TV Line reported.
Talking about the decision to renew "Sleep Hollow" without one of its main characters, Madden said that the pitch for Season 4 by the series showrunners were hard to say no to.
"[Sleepy Hollow creatives] pitched us an array of new characters and new situations for Crane to get into and the first seven scripts are really fun. We think there's a lot of good new stories to tell," he said.
