The next iteration of "Attack on Titan" will reportedly introduce a new form of Titan that will strikingly resemble the famous fictional character "King Kong."

This semblance of the new Titan to an ape will be arguably bigger and more intelligent than the previous colossal ones that will pose grave threat to Eren and his fellow soldiers, Vine Report reported. In Season 1, the military learned set of information that led to a more understanding of the true nature of the Titans. However, these were not enough to subjugate the monsters who seemed to be living on one sole purpose, which is to kill humans.

With the knowledge of the Titan's true origin of a human form, speculations arose along the ranks of the military on who might be the Titan that could be concealing themselves within. One of these is the possibility that Armin could also gain the ability to transform into a Titan, just like his friend Eren.

This would be in line with the manga where Armin was given the Titan serum which would be the only cure for him to survive his death-like state after suffering injuries while fighting a Titan. Although, Captain Levi originally wanted to give it to Commander Erwin, this plan changed after the commander instructed Levi to lead the corps to battle. With this, Commander Erwin died, leaving the option to give the Titan serum to Armin wide open.

Despite speculations that Season 2 of the anime will veer off its manga counterpart, as reported by iTechPost, creators could still keep the main storyline.

Fans could expect "Attack on Titan" Season 2 to premiere on April 2017.
