After its subsequent release, the sequel to the hit Facebook app "Marvel Avenger's Alliance" has been taken down by Disney, along with the first game. The company has decided to focus its efforts on other ventures instead.

Disney has been experiencing difficulties with its products lately following the discontinuation of "Disney Infinity," according to Gamespot. The company recently decided to shut down the successful Marvel based Facebook game since it "has not met [their] performance expectations."

On its official website, Disney announced that both games be shut down on all platforms, which includes the App Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore, Windows Phone Store, and Facebook. Beginning the first day of September, any new purchases and downloads will be unaccepted, although the two games themselves will still be around until Sept. 30, 2016.

Kotaku reported that another reason Disney shut down both Marvel-based games is due to being focused on their developments on other possible online and mobile game apps, "and a growing selection of Disney Mobile apps."

Of course, a lot of fans did not appreciate the direction Disney was taking with their games. Some of them even questioned why they should bother even playing the other games Disney has promised after what they had done to these.

While the existing games are still on the digital shelves of customers, there has not been any confirmation though that Disney will refund the players for any purchases. Fortunately, other Marvel games such as "Marvel Heroes" and "Marvel: Contest of Champions" are still active for players to enjoy.

Sept. 30 will also be the due date where "Disney Infinity" will be taken down from its official website while the Windows Store version will be remaining until Mar. 3, 2017. The Steam Version will probably function normally for an indefinite time, although without any online support.
