Netflix has officially renewed summer hit television series "Stranger Things" and revealed its upcoming episode titles.

The announcement was released in a video. "Stranger Things" Season 2 will have 9 episodes in total and will arrive in the summer of 2017, Screen Rant reported. The episode titles are namely "Madmax," "The Boy Who Came Back To Life," "The Pumpkin Patch," "The Palace," "The Storm," "The Pollywog," "The Secret Cabin," "The Brain" and "The Lost Brother."

Earlier in an interview, co-creator Matt Duffer said that the plan is to use "Harry Potter" as template for future seasons, Entertainment Weekly reported.

"I love watching kids growing up on camera. So the idea seeing where these kids and these characters are one year later is cool to me. And it allows us to explore the mythology of our nether," he said.

In a separate interview with IGN, Duffer hinted that Season 2 will explore getting justice for Barbara's (Shannon Purser) death and the possibility of bringing Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine) back into the fold. While both characters were presumably killed in a fatal encounter with the Demogorgon, Dr. Brenner's death was not shown in any of the episodes.

"I would say that if we were going to kill Brenner... as an audience member watching the show, if that was his death, that would be very unsatisfying to me - when the monster jumps on him and we cut away. He would deserve much more than that as an ending," he explained.

The "Stranger Things" is one of the surprise success stories of summer. The 1980s adventure combines an ode to the 80s with fantasy, horror and coming of age stories with science fiction.
