"Pokemon Go" players reportedly discovered various GPS spoofing methods in catching Pokemons without actually having to leave the comfort of their homes. Such ways include the use of the GPS spoofing system and a modified "Pokemon Go" APK. However, users of such methods are reportedly advised to take precaution as Niantic may see the act as cheating and may permanently ban their accounts once caught.

With the use of a GPS spoofing system, players may reach higher "Pokemon Go" levels but might miss the fun that goes with the game. This is because the system requires a user to put a device with "Pokemon Go" app installed in it in a radio frequency-shielded box. When the device is already in place, the "Pokemon Go" app will receive fake GPS signals that are generated by the box itself which the app will assume to be a location, BGR reported.

Another method to catch Pokemons without having to leave the house is by using a modified "Pokemon Go" APK, GPS-spoofing app. The modified APK method requires the player to use an alternate "Pokemon Go" account, The Verge reported. This means that the player will have to start the game again from scratch using the alternate account.

Players can launch the modified "Pokemon Go" APK so that the location of their devices can be faked. However, it is suggested for players to turn off their Google Location History in order to avoid Niantic from finding out that the game is being played using a GPS location faking app.

"Pokemon Go" GPS spoofing methods are believed to help players in catching more Pokemons even without leaving their houses but such methods are highly discouraged. It is important to note that Niantic has implemented a strong campaign to ban players in the event that they are caught cheating while playing "Pokemon Go." This includes the use of third party websites and apps that fake the locations of devices. Watch the "Pokemon Go" GPS location spoofing on iOS without jailbreak video here.
