Sony Xperia X Compact and Sony Xperia XZ or XR smartphones will be unveiled at the upcoming IFA in the week to come. While fans wait for the official release of the devices, some leaked specifications gave a glimpse on what the devices would actually look like.

Unlike other smartphones that released a mini version by reducing a number of specs, Sony Xperia X Compact's specs has not been compromised. Sony reportedly packed powerful technologies in smaller form factors to make the device no different from Sony Xperia XZ, GSM Arena reported.

Sony Xperia X Compact is expected to be a powerhouse device with a smaller screen and a 4.6-inch display. It is suggested to sport a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and a USB Type-C port. A 2,700 mAh battery will also power the smartphone reportedly.

Sony Xperia XZ, on the other hand, will purportedly carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor as well with a 4GB of RAM. It will be equipped with a high-end 23-megapixel camera with laser autofocus and two LED flashes while its front-facing camera is at 13-megapixel.

The Sony Xperia XZ device is also expected to feature a larger 5.2-inch curved 2.5D glass display. Similar to Sony Xperia X Compact, Sony Xperia XZ is also integrated with a USB Type-C port, Phone Arena reported.

Meanwhile, renders of Sony's next smartphone currently dubbed as Sony Xperia XR have leaked online ahead of launch. The device is reportedly the same as Sony Xperia XZ. Because of this, it still remains to be seen what the device will actually be named, XR or XZ.

Sony Xperia X Compact and Sony Xperia XZ are expected to make their formal debut on Sept. 1. While the big event is just around the corner, it is expected that more details about the devices will be revealed soon.

However, no specific details on the price points of the devices have been announced yet. Meanwhile watch the Sony Xperia X Compact review here.
