"Captain America: Civil War" almost gave fans more information about Black Widow's origin until it was deleted in the final cut.
In a junior novelization of "Captain America: Civil War," small details about the backstory of Natasha Romanov a.k.a Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) were revealed, Movie Pilot reported. Through some dialogue from a supposed early scene, Natasha said that at a young age, she was placed in "The Red Room" in Russia and suggested that she was forced to kill other children in order to survive.
These small details reveal that she and Bucky a.k.a The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) have some similarities that could also be the reason why she agreed to help Captain Rogers (Chris Evans) escape in the epic Airport scene. Fans suggest that the scene could have made a huge emotional impact for her character in the film.
Black Widow has been a fixture and one of the fan favorites in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but her origin story is yet to be explored. In the "Avengers: Age of Ultron," a portion of her backstory was shown in flashbacks under Scarlett Witch's (Elizabeth Olsen) manipulation.
Marvel has yet to comment on why the scene never made it to the movie. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said that Black Widow could get her own solo film in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadline reported.
"We think she's an amazing character. We think Scarlett Johansson's portrayal of her is amazing. She's a lead Avenger and has amazing stories in her own right to tell that we think would be fun to turn into a standalone franchise," he said.
"Captain America: Civil War" will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on September 13, 2016.
