Japanese rock band SCANDAL shows girl power on 10th anniversary concert festival

The all-female J-Rock band SCANDAL rocked the stage on their 10th anniversary concert festival, SCAFE.

Main vocalist, Haruna Ono mentioned that the anniversary was in festival format so that fans can have enjoyment of the band's music and prepared activities. Prior the concert, Ono added that the group's performance would be as powerful as the summer heat, Toggle interviewed.

SCANDAL has been rock and rollin' for a decade in the Japanese and international music scene. Tomomi Ogawa, bassist said that success comes by believing in one's self. The 26 year old drummer, Rina Suzuki added that one should do his best towards victory.

The group has been travelling abroad to promote their albums. Ono mentioned that the quintet's goal is to tour Asia whenever a new album comes out. Suzuki added that she personally wishes to come to Czech Republic.

In accordance with the anniversary, the band released "Take Me Out" which is their 23rd single last July 29. According to Suzuki, the single is a result of the previous world tour as it combines the musical style of various nations, Jrock News reported.

SCAFE- SCANDAL 10th Anniversary Festival happened on Aug. 21 at the Izumiotsu Phoenix in Osaka. Apart from new songs, they also performed their oldschool hits including "Sayonara My Friend," "Everybody Say Yeah," and "SCANDAL Baby." The 27 year old vocalist also announced that they will release a new album on the next spring. After the festival, the female rockers are set to perform in European countries including Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Austria, Italy, France, Spain and the United Kingdom starting on September.

SCANDAL was founded in 2006 when four members were still in high school. In 2008, "Doll" which is their major debut track was released under Epic Records Japan. The former street performers are also known for their anime theme songs "Shojo-S" and "Harukaze" from Bleach and the anthem of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood "Shunkan Sentimental."
