With its release less than three months away, players are itching to find out if their computers can run "Gears of War 4." Now, Microsoft has revealed to the public the hardware specifications necessary for its futuristic first-person shooter.

Attack of the Fanboy reported that Microsoft had finally revealed hardware specs for the game during Gamescom. According to the article, ideal specs require an FX-9590 or Core i7 4790 processor running at a speed of 4 GHz. As for graphics processing units (GPU), the game runs best on an AMD R9 Fury X, or either the Nvidia GTX 1080 or 980 Ti.

Ideal Video RAM is at 4GB for the AMD GPUs, and 6GB for the Nvidia chips. The game also ideally requires 16GB of RAM, and hard disk space of 80 GB.

In addition, Microsoft also revealed minimum and recommended hardware for its new shooter. Minimum processing power required can be delivered by a 3.0 GHz i5 3470 or AMD FX-6300. An AMD R7 260X or an Nvidia GTX 750 Ti GPU with 8GB of RAM could also suffice for the graphics.

Finally, Microsoft recommended that computers should have an AMD FX-8350 or an i5 4690 running at 3.5 GHz, backed up by 8GB of RAM. The game's graphics could run optimally with an AMD R9 290X or RX 480, or Nvidia's GTX 970 and 1060 GPUs. These video cards should have 4GB of VRAM.

Both minimum and recommended specs require 8GB of RAM. They also both need 80GB of hard disk space to install the game.

Microsoft also released a gameplay video during Gamescom. This video showed the game in full 4K resolution, and featured protagonists JD, Kait and Del. Drones and Pouncers from the Swarm were also featured in the gameplay trailer, Attack of the Fanboy said.

"Gears of War 4" will be released on Oct. 11. The game takes place 25 years after the Locust War in the previous game. The protagonist JD is the son of Marcus Fenix, protagonist of previous games, Polygon reported.

JD and the rest of humanity are slowly recovering from the damage of the Locust War. However, they are faced by a new threat called the Swarm. Now, JD and his friends Kait and Del must take up arms and face this new danger to humanity.
