The science fiction horror film "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" will be shown in theaters early next year, and speculations have surfaced on how it will end based on the trailer that was released last week. Actress Milla Jovovich, meanwhile, has spoken about how it's like doing the last installment in the film series.

"It's definitely a little bittersweet, that's for sure," Jovovich said when IGN's Jim Vejvoda asked how she feels about the story coming to a close, "but it's one of those things where 'Resident Evil' has always been a very organic film franchise."

She explained that it's organic in a sense that they never really released films every year at a certain date. The movies came because they had a new script and because they wanted to make a new one and they enjoyed it. She also said that she probably won't feel the end of the series for a couple of years.

Jovovich explained that whenever they did a "Resident Evil" movie, they weren't thinking of making another one. They gave their best for each one, and the upcoming movie is the same.

Speaking about her character, the 40-year-old actress said that this is the first time that Alice has come to terms with who she is and, for the first time, Alice seems like she's having fun. Reteaming with Claire Redfield (Ali Larter), Jovovich said that viewers will feel the sisterly relationship between the two characters.

Dr. Alexander Isaacs (Iain Glen) is returning, as shown in the recently released trailer. The teaser gives fans a glimpse of some action-packed scenes that are expected to keep viewers at the edge of their seats.  Creators.co observed a huge number of zombies and made speculations on the return of Nemesis. It also predicts Alice to ride off into the sunset at the end of the film, and hopes that it will give closure.

"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" will be shown in the United States on Jan. 27, 2017.
