"Homeland" will feature a different version of Quinn when the series returns for Season 6. Meanwhile, the Showtime drama has added "The Flash" and "Limitless" actors to play recurring characters in the new season.

Following a deadly incident in Season 5, it is now confirmed that Agent Quinn is still alive when "Homeland" returns for Season 6. Executive producer Alex Gansa has previewed Quinn's fate on Thursday at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour, TV Guide reported. According to Gansa, although Quinn survived, viewers should expect some drastic changes from the character.

"His very existence was in question, so you're going to see a very changed and altered Quinn," the showrunner told reporters.

"I think Quinn, this coming season, will really represent a profound and familiar casualty of the war on terror for our audience," he continued.

Previewing Quinn's storyline in "Homeland" Season 6, Gansa teased that what he experienced last year will be different from the events written for him this year. Specifically, Gansa shared that Quinn's arc will be all about his daily relationship with Carrie Matheson in the new bunch of episodes. Whether or not the duo will grow closer romantically has not been disclosed.

In other developments, "Homeland" has recruited Patrick Sabongui (The Flash) and Hill Harper (Limitless) to play recurring characters in Season 6. According to Entertainment Weekly, Sabongui will play a CUNY law professor and advocate for the Muslim-American community. Harper, meanwhile, will play the chief of staff for US president-elect Elizabeth Keane.

"Homeland" Season 6 premieres on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 9PM on Showtime.
