Brosnahan has been cast to star in the "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," Vulture reported. Miriam 'Midge' Maisel, or better known as Mrs. Maisel, is a sharp, brilliant, energetic, and absolutely funny Jewish girl. She got married when she was 25 years old. She is a loving Jewish housewife to her husband and a mother of two children. They lived in New York City. Later on, she became one of the first female standup comedians after her husband left them for another woman. She was completely unprepared from what happened. At that time, she was left with only her wit to start a new life for herself and her children.

According to TV Line, "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" is set in the 1950s. It is one of the five streaming video services that are recently ordered as Amazon pilots. The other pilots are supernatural thriller "Carnival Row" from the director Guillermo del Toro, sci-fi drama "Strange New Things" from screenwriter Matt Charman, real-life superhero comedy "The Legend of Master Legend" from screenwriters Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster, and the 1950s Cuba drama "Tropicana" from writers Josh Goldin and Rachel Abramowitz.

Brosnahan earned the guest actress in the primetime Emmy award in her character on Netflix's "House of Cards." She was also known for her roles as Abby in "Manhattan", as Jolene on "The Blacklist", and as Brian on "Grey's Anatomy." Sherman-Palladino is currently in post-production on the four movies of "Gilmore Girls" for Netflix.
