Actress Shin Hye Sun is the new addition to the star-studded lineup of upcoming drama "Legend Of The Blue Sea." Shin's role on the SBS television series was confirmed on Monday by a source affiliated with the project.

According to reports, the 26-year-old actress, who will play as Lee Min Ho's university junior, was chosen to be part of "Legend Of The Blue Sea" because of her refreshing aura. "We cast Shin due to her fresh image and talent as an actress. We believe that she has great potential," Korea Joongang Daily quoted the source as saying.

Shin will be joining the star-studded lineup of the upcoming fantasy series, which include Lee Hee Joon, Gianna Jun and Lee Min Ho. "Legend Of The Blue Sea" is slated to start in November and will air every Wednesdays and Thursdays on SBS. The upcoming fantasy drama is reportedly based on a folktale about a mermaid from the Joseon Dynasty.

Meanwhile, Shin just finished filming for a KBS series titled "Five Enough," which started airing in February, Dramabeans reported. With that said, the actress will immediately start filming for "Legend Of The Blue Sea."

Shin, who is known for her role in "Oh My Ghostess," started her career in 2008. Since she made her debut, the Korean actress has done a number of TV series including "School 2013," "Angel Eyes," High School King Savvy," "Forever Young" and "She Was Pretty."

Aside from that, Shin has also appeared on the big screen for films "One Summer Night," "Return Match" and "A Violent Prosecutor."
