"The Big Bang Theory" Season 11 is still in limbo, as the cast are still waiting to close a deal with CBS to renew their contracts and get raises.
According to Deadline, the signing of new deals are expected to happen before "The Big Bang Theory" goes into production for its upcoming tenth season in Aug.10. However, it is yet to be determined whether CBS will grant the hit comedy early renewals for "The Big Bang Theory" Season 11 and beyond.
"The Big Bang Theory's" major players, which include Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, have already been reported to earn $1 million per episode, same as the benchmark salary of the "Friends" cast members, such as Jennifer Anniston, during the show's successful run. This number is expected to even increase when the trio and the rest of the cast re-inks their deal with the network.
The same goes for fellow hit comedy "Modern Family," which has been a top-ranking series for ABC. While The "Big Bang Theory" and "Modern Family" is affiliated with Warner Bros. TV and 20th Century Fox TV, it is still up to their parent networks to decide whether both comedy series will live to see another day.
"Modern Family" and "The Big Bang Theory" have proven to be top-assets for their respective networks since their debut, earning multiple nominations and win at the Emmys. In terms of ratings, "The Big Bang Theory" has always fared strong - recording 20 million viewers per episode on its most recent ninth season.
Parsons and Cuoco addressed the show's future recently, saying that they are still willing to work with the team for as long as they need to.
"It might be a sticky road, but if I have anything to do with it, we'd be here for much longer," Cuoco said in a report from Metro.
"That's the goal."
"The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 premieres on Monday, Oct. 27 on CBS.
