In the universe of DC Comics, a rebirth suggests that what dies will be born again. Such is the case with Oliver Queen, a.k.a The Green Arrow, that dies and comes back to life in "Green Arrow: Rebirth."

Previously in "Green Arrow # 2," comic book writer Benjamin Percy depicts Oliver Queen at his most desolate state. He was betrayed by Shado and his half-sister Emiko, while his company goes bankrupt.  His love affair with Dinah Lance, a.k.a The Black Canary, was also hanging by the ropes.

"Green Arrow: Rebirth" picks up from the unfortunate ending of the previous issue. The initial storyline begins with Oliver Queen's body floating down the ocean after he was thrown by Shado and Emiko. It is speculated that the Green Arrow dies, but what is a comic book without its main hero?

It turns out that Oliver is alive and the death in the comic book is a metaphor of Oliver's loss, and how he will be able to resurrect as the "Green Arrow." According to reader's opinions via the Tech Times, DC took a different approach from its typical rebirth titles, since the upcoming comic actually had a character that dies and completely resets into a different person.

Meanwhile, fans should also be looking at the artwork by Otto Schmidt. According to a review done in Comics Beat, despite that he was never the heroic artist in the DC comics, he did a good job at depicting the Green Arrow's despair throughout the issue. He was able to make the artwork full of emotions where readers found it impossible not to sympathize with the fallen hero. The review added that though the loss was profound, there's a glimmer of hope when he rises up again.
