Universal's upcoming reboot of the classic film "The Mummy" reveals "Kingsman The Secret Service" actress Sofia Boutella as the iconic monster in the film. When her photos as the mummy surfaced in the internet, many were surprised to see how it resembled the appearance of the mummy in the original films.

Just Jared posted a behind the scenes look at the 34-year old Boutella who is set to portray an ancient queen who turns into the mummy anti-hero:

It appears that Boutella's body is painted with a pale grey color and draped in torn shrouds. Her character will also have tattoos of hieroglyphics placed around her skin in a uniformed order. According to International Business Times, the initial response to Boutella's costume was understated, since fans expected that it would have strayed from the definitive interpretation of a mummy.

Given the Boutella's frame, it was hard to imagine how she would be able to appear as a monstrous villain in "The Mummy" reboot. Then again, the behind the scene image was without the CGI and the post production effects so the image released is yet to be considered a teaser.

Meanwhile, the synopsis of the states that Boutella's character is the ancient queen who is buried in the tomb underneath the dessert. She then comes to life and wreaks havoc in the most incomprehensible way. Tom Cruise who plays the Navy Seal Tyler Colt will go up against the mummy and stop her.

The production studio announced that the film will be bringing a new intensity of thrills which will usher the gates to a different world of gods and monsters. "The Mummy" will be officially released in cinemas on June 9, 2017.
