Following reports that hip hop artist Verbal Jint was pulled over for drunk driving on Thursday, June 16, the rapper has confessed to his fans on Instagram that he was indeed involved in such an incident.

Verbal Jint posted an explanation of the drunk driving incident on Saturday, June 19 on his Instagram account. "Hello. I apologize for delivering bad news," he stated. "I want to confess that four days ago, I was caught drunk driving in my neighborhood with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.067 percent. My license is expected to be suspended for 100 days."

"I have no intention to come up with excuses since I'm at fault, and I'm deeply regretful of my reckless actions and neglecting the possibility of a drunk driver becoming an assailant," he added.

"I believe this is something that both cannot and should not be hidden, hence why I'm writing this post that makes me feel ashamed. Once again, I apologize for showing a disappointing side of myself."

According to Soompi, Verbal Jint was asked to pull over for driving under the influence of alcohol in Mapo District, Seoul, at around 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 16. The record producer under Brand New Music was allegedly driving his own car. He is said to have confessed to the charges and cooperated with the authorities.

Drunk driving in South Korea means having a blood-alcohol concentration of over 0.05 percent. A violation of this law could result in six months of imprisonment or a fine of three million won ($2,562), and revocation or suspicion of one's driver's license, Koreaboo reported.
