Television music competition program Immortal Song has apologized after a wrong photo was used to introduce the I.O.I girls during their guest appearance on the show on Saturday, June 11.

Apparently, the photo that flashed on the screen did not showcase the band's current members. Instead, it included the Produce 101 trainees, namely, Kang Si Won, Yoon Chae Kyung, Kim Na Young and Kang Kyung Won, who unfortunately did not make it into the group. Meanwhile, the current members of the group - Kim Do Yeon, Lim Na Young, Jung Chae Yeon and Zhou Jieqiong - were not in the picture.

Admitting their error, the production team apologized for their mistake. Lee Tae Heon, the producer, and director of the show, issued an official apology during a phone call with Sports Chosun, according to Daily Kpop News.

"It's no doubt the fault of the staff. The staff were looking for a photo to use during the video, and used a photo made by the fans. It's the fault of the staff who didn't confirm the photo," he said. "We're sorry to both fans and IOI. After we realized that we used the wrong photo after the broadcast, we fixed it right away."

The production team has assured viewers that henceforth they will use the correct images and videos.

"For videos that will be provided for the 'rewatch service' or for rebroadcasts and cable broadcasts, the edited photo will be used," Lee said.

He also thanked the band for their outstanding retro performance of Hong Seo Bum's Fireworks.

"We're thankful for IOI for putting on such a great stage," Lee added.
