Hong-Kong based actress Rebecca Zhu revealed that she has been greatly affected by the characters that she has been portraying lately. However, it appears that it does her good as her acting performance has noticeably improved.

Zhu recently appeared as the iconic ‘Pearl Concubine’ Consort Tsan in the historical drama ‘The Last Healer in Forbidden City.’ She also appeared as Fung Chi-ching, a wife dying of cancer, in the action-thriller television drama ‘Over Run Over.’

Her performances in those two TVB dramas has earned Zhu praises from critics.

“It felt like I became an entirely different person. I liked to isolate myself,” the former Miss Hong Kong revealed while talking about her acting experience, according to Jayne Stars.

“Back then, I wouldn’t cry while practicing (my dialogue), but after filming commenced, I couldn’t stop crying! The dialogue I read was supposed to be very relaxed, but I instead delivered it in a very disheartening way,” she added.

Zhu, 28, made her debut in the Hong Kong entertainment industry when she won the Miss Hong Kong 2011 title. She was also recognized as Miss Trendy Vision and won the Most Popular Award at the pageant.

Zhu has appeared in TV drama series like "Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles" (2012), "From Vegas to Macau II" (2015), "Always and Ever," (2013), and "The Fixer" (2015).
