Tom Ellis teased some spoilers for "Lucifer" Season 2 ahead of its return in May. The actor teased Lucifer's plans and revealed the devil returns to Los Angeles.
Fox News caught up with Ellis during the Super Bowl, where he was asked to spill a few details about his show. The actor, who plays Lucifer Morningstar, teased what is next for the devil when the show returns to Fox.
The winter finale of "Lucifer" Season 2 saw the devil leave Los Angeles after he saved Chloe Decker (Lauren German) from the brink of death. He closed off Lux and just left without a single word. He did not tell anyone, not even Chloe, where he was going.
Talking about that cliffhanger in the finale, Ellis said Lucifer decided to disappear so he can think things through. The devil wanted time to reevaluate the events that happened in his life, especially after what he learned about Chloe. Lucifer needed time to clear his mind, especially after he learned that his own mother Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) manipulated his relationship with the detective.
Eventually, Ellis said that the devil returns to Los Angeles after having made "a very big decision." Likewise, the actor assured that the remaining episodes of "Lucifer" Season 2 will not disappoint viewers. Fans will still see the devil's signature humor.
However, it remains unknown what Lucifer intends to do when he returns to Los Angeles. According to Yahoo, he returns to seek revenge for those who wronged him, which would include his mother and brother Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside).
Likewise, it is likely that the upcoming episodes of "Lucifer" Season 2 will focus on the devil's dark side. The past episodes and Season 1 so far humanized the character. Perhaps this time fans will his evil side come out as consequence of the hurt and betrayal he felt.
