"Doctor Strange" ushered in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a unique storyline and mind-blowing visuals. It was offbeat treat compared to the other films in the MCU, especially since the movie dealt with supernatural and mystical elements. But even so, "Doctor Strange" still managed to be on point in terms of the theoretical science that created the various dimensions in the film.
Professor Alan Frank from the University of Rochester recently spoke with Yahoo! on the science behind "Doctor Strange." He was Marvel's consultant when the studio was working on the physics and astronomy behind the multiverse in the film. He assures that Doctor Strange's journey into the unknown is completely backed up by theory.
"But what Marvel did that was great was, they just brought up that idea --- that you may have a universe of infinite spatial dimensions, and each of the different subsets of those spatial dimensions could be a separate universe," Frank said.
"We live in a three-dimensional reality, and if our three-dimensional reality is embedded in a 500-dimensional space, then our three-dimensional reality and some other three-dimensional reality will coexist in that 500-dimensional space, but we would never know about the other one"
Frank concluded that what's good about "Doctor Strange" is the fact that they played out the idea as scientist would think about reality and space.
Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as the Sorcerer Supreme in Marvel's "Avengers: Infinity War." In an interview with Empire (via MovieWeb), Cumberbatch hinted that he will be heading to Atlanta at the end of 2017 to film his role in "Infinity War." He is also expected to join another "Avengers" movie after "Infinity War." Reports also reveal that a body double for Cumberbatch has been spotted during the early filming for the movie.
"Avengers: Infinity War" will be out on May 2018.
