"Game of Thrones" creator George R.R. Martin announced that he will be releasing another batch of stories this year.

The stories will come in a short story set in the world of "A Song of Ice And Fire" as part of an anthology series. The series will be titled "Book of Swords," and will comprise a collection of fifteen original tales that will explore the golden age of sword and sorcery, Screen Rant reported.

The book can be pre-ordered on Amazon, Watchers on the Wall reported. It is edited by Gardner Dozoir, a sci-fi author who has also worked in multiple cross-genre anthologies inspired by Isaac Asimov. Martin and Gardner have reportedly worked together before in co-editing eight anthologies between 2009-2015, Polygon reported.

The news comes as a pleasant surprise for "Game of Thrones" fans who are still waiting for the sixth installment of the "A Song of Ice And Fire" series, "The Winds of Winter." Speaking of the latter, Martin earlier said that he is still on the process of writing it and clarified that the book is not yet close to being finished, in contrast to what the rumors are saying.

Earlier, Martin published a chapter of the novel on his LiveJournal page. However, he said that he is merely changing the sample chapter.

"And no, just to spike any bullshit rumors, changing the sample chapter does not mean I am done," he wrote. "See the icon up above? Monkey is still on my back... but he's growing, he is, and one day," he said.

"Book of Swords" will also contain works of other contributing authors such as K J Parker, Scott Lynch, C.J Cherryh, Elizabeth Bear, Daniel Abraham, Cecilia Holland, Peter S. Beagle and Ellen Kushner. The book is slated for release on October 10 this year.
