This 2017, a number of new Korean dramas await fans. One of the 2017 K-Dramas getting the buzz from netizens is tvN's upcoming series "Bride of the Water God."

Moon Chae Won is reportedly going to be the female lead of the fantasy drama. According to Soompi, the actress' agency Namoo Actors confirmed the rumors. The rep from the agency said Moon Chae Won received an offer to star in "Bride of the Water God" but Namoo Actors is still looking over it. "It is not confirmed yet," the source added.

If ever Moon Chae Won becomes the female lead, who will be her co-star? Nam Joo Hyuk was rumored to play the male lead. Earlier this month, a representative from the network confirmed that the actor did receive an offer. However, like Moon Chae Won's situation, nothing has been confirmed yet.

The Korea Herald reported that Nam's agency YG Entertainment claimed nothing has been confirmed on the actor's part. However, the agency also clarified that the actor actually received an offer to be the male lead.

Nam Joo Hyuk recently appeared in his first ever lead role in "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" with Lee Sung Kyung, Lee Jae Yoon and Kyung Soo Jin. He made his debut as an actor in tvN when he became part of "The Idle Mermaid" in 2014.

On the other hand, Moon Chae Won last appeared in the manga-based drama "Goodbye Mr. Black." The 30-year-old actress played the lead role of Kim Swan.

Like Moon Chae Won's last series, "Bride of the Water God" is also a hit manhwa in South Korea. The upcoming drama serves as a small screen adaptation of the manhwa or comics that bears the same title.

TvN has not announced the release month for "Bride of the Water God" but it was listed after "Secret Forest" that is scheduled to premiere in May. Fans might as well see the Korean drama this summer. For the meantime, take a look at how "Bride of the Water God" looks in the manga.
