It has been 10 years since the release of the second installment of the "Hellboy" franchise. Although there has been no confirmation regarding the development of "Hellboy 3," recent reports claim that it may have a chance to happen.

Reports say that the director of the film franchise, Guillermo del Toro, is making the fans decide whether "Hellboy 3" would happen or not, cites Cinema Blend. According to the same publication, del Toro has posted a poll on his twitter account asking fans how many votes would they give for "Hellboy 3." The choices were 'yes' and 'hell yes,' and the voting turned out to be a huge success as 32 percent of the total 130,000 votes were yes while 68 percent of the fans voted for 'hell yes.'

The director also tweeted that if the votes reach 100,000, then he would discuss the third installment with Ron Perlman, who plays the role of "Hellboy" in the previous films, and Mike Mignola, who is the comic book creator of "Hellboy" where the films are based on.

It can be remembered that the first "Hellboy" movie was a box office hit, earning more than US$99 million from a budget of US$66 million. The second installment was also a blockbuster that generated US$160 million from a budget of US$85 million. With these given numbers, reports say that the franchise are hopeful that "Hellboy 3" will come into production and will eventually be on the big screen the soonest possible time. Since fans have already decided by casting more than 130,000 votes in del Toro's poll, the possibility of "Hellboy 3" being released in the big screen is high.

On the other hand, after getting positive results of the poll, del Toro posted on his tweeter account that he already talked to Perlman, wherein the actor granted the meeting for the possible development of "Hellboy 3." The director also said that he is going to talk to Mignola next, Screen Rant has learned.

As of the moment, there is still no confirmation coming from del Toro, Perlman or Mignola in regards to whether "Hellboy 3" is going to happen or not.
