The new "Bates Motel" Season 5 trailer revealed Norma's chilling disposition and how twisted Norman has become. He turned his dead mother into a deity and preserved her corpse in ice.
A&E released the "Bates Motel" Season 5 trailer on Tuesday, which reveals the state Norman is in following his mother's death in Season 4. The psycho continues to live as though his mother Norma is still alive.
The trailer opens with a look inside Norman's room and at his neatly folded clothes on the bed. The scene then moves to Norma's bedroom before it shows the dining area, where a birthday party seemed to have transpired. There are two dishes and two birthday hats on the table, which Norman could have set up for him and his mother.
The scene in the "Bates Motel" Season 5 trailer then moves to the kitchen and to the living room, where Norma sat. Of course, Norma is not actually in the room. She is merely a figment of Norman's imagination. The camera then moves to the basement to show Norman doing his taxidermy hobby.
However, as for Norma's actual body, Norman stored it in the freezer. The "Bates Motel" Season 5 trailer shows him walk inside the storage, which he has turned into some kind of a worship area for his mother. The psycho then offers the dead bird he sewed up to Norma.
Apparently, Norman has turned his mother into a goddess or a queen. He made sure to dress her up and put a crown on her head. According to TV Guide, Norman turned Norma's corpse into the ice queen.
In "Bates Motel" Season 5, Norman assumes his mother's identity. This means Norma becomes crazier too. Vega Farmiga (Norma) told Zap2it "there's going to be more liberties and lunacy" surrounding her character, since she now exists in Norman's mind.
