After a successful trade of Kyle Korver and getting Mo Williams and Mike Dunleavy Jr., along with the first round draft pick, Atlanta Hawks prepares to trade Paul Millsap. The Hawks have mentioned the price they want for their most valuable power forward. Toronto Raptors or Denver Nuggets appear to be the perfect destination for Millsap.

According to ESPN, the Hawks are looking for quality first round draft picks for his All-Star forward. Currently, there are two teams who are willing to get Millsap, Denver Nuggets and Toronto Raptors.

Nuggets may see the demand from Atlanta Hawks is in their advantage, because they have the extra first-round pick from Memphis Grizzlies . However, trading Millsap to Denver may not be a good move for Atlanta Hawks. Simply because with an All-Star forward such as Millsap, the Nuggets which currently have 14-23 may become playoff contender, which could decrease their value for draft picks.

The other option Toronto Raptors. Millsap will give the Raptors a very valuable strength in the front court. However, this option is also less beneficial to Atlanta Hawks to get high level first round draft picks, because the Raptors currently 24-13 and ranked second in the Eastern Conference.

From that point of veiw, Toronto Raptors will surely not get a high quality draft picks in the 2017 NBA Draft. Therefore, the Nuggets may give higher pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Meanwhile, Raptors have set their eyes on Millsap since Luis Scola played in Toronto in 2015-16 season. However according to SportsNet, the Hawks may have put too expensive price tag for Millsap.

Toronto Raptors forward DeMarre Carroll expected to have Millsap join the team. He admired Millsap as the player who is able to strengthen the defense in the Raptors.

“Paul is the most unselfish all-star you probably will ever find,” Carroll said. “He’s always been a team player. He always fills the stat sheets.”

Atlanta Hawks now must take the best decision in trading Paul Millsap to get the better draft picks. Watch “The Starter” podcast from NBA.com regarding the better trade destination for Millsap below:
