It's heartbreaking news for PC and Nintendo Switch owners because "Persona 5" and "Yakuza 0" will not come on PC and Nintendo Switch platforms. This was announced Tuesday and posted on Twitter by Atlus USA and Sega of America PR Manager, John Hardin. "Persona 5" will be available only on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 while Sega will launch "Yakuza 0" exclusively on PlayStation 4.
"Persona 5 platforms: PS3, PS4. Yakuza 0 platforms: PS4. THAT'S. IT. No Switch. No PC. Idk [I don't know] about the box label, that's a Sony thing."
In his post, Hardin refers the "box label" as the "Only on PlayStation" or "PS4 Console Exclusive" labels that Sony places on the packaging of particular games that are limited to PlayStation platforms or on PS4 and PC. However, there is no label on the "Persona 5" but the packaging on "Yakuza 0" contains the label "PS4 Console Exclusive", according to Anime News Network.
Typically, the reason why many gamers buy Sony's consoles is Nintendo's first-party line-up. There are rumors that "Beyond Good and Evil 2" will be exclusive for a specific period together with Splatoon. On the other hand, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" together with Mario will give prospective Switch buyers something to look forward to.
After Nintendo's announcement regarding Switch, Atlus and SEGA verified plans of backing up the console. SEGA revealed last year that there will be an 'epic' title coming from Sonic Colors and Generations team coming to the platform this year, IGN reported.
Nintendo will present a live-streamed conference on January 12 and at the same time unveils the console's price, specs, and release line up.
Yakuza 0 will be available for PlayStation 4 in America and Europe this coming January 24. Pre-orders of the game in the US will get upgraded to Business Edition while "Persona 5" will be released in North America and Europe on April 4.
