Kevin Love ate a bad fish on Sunday and he could not stop vomitting afterward. He was reported to lose 10 pounds, and struggled in the game against New Orleans Pelicans, yet he still posted double-double before out in the fourth quarter.

Love had food poisoning after eating sea bass on the trip to Charlotte on Sunday, Jan. 1, CBS Sports reported. Love was still able to play on Monday night against New Orleans Pelicans and posted double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

The 6’10” forward struggled in the 90-82 win over the Pelicans, as he only shot 5 from 19 from the field. After 24 minutes on the floor, coah Tyron Lue decided to sit him and let him rest.

At first, coach Lue didn’t think Love would be able to play, according to Cleveland.com. It is because he received the news from the Cavaliers athletic trainer than after eating a bad sea bass, Kevin Love was vomiting and anything else that he couldn’t say to the press. As a result Love was reported to lose 10 pounds, which may be exaggerating because losing that much weight in two days will greatly affect a professional athlete’s performance.

"We didn't think he was going to be able to play today," Lue said after the game. “He said he's going to give it a go. He came out there and gave us 24 strong minutes, which we needed.”

New Orleans Pelicans showed a strong tenacity and playing a good game against the Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland. The Pelicans had just a four-game winning streak after their coach Alvin Gentry implemented a new system of small ball play. However, their opponents the Cavaliers had better defense and gave them their 22nd losses this season.
