After all the news on the upcoming horror flick, "Alien Covenant," we finally get the trailer showcasing the actors, the locales, and the intense, scary feel of the movie.

Director Ridley Scott returns to film the latest installment in the franchise. The director, who first helmed the 1979 sci-fi horror classic "Alien" and 2012's semi-prequel "Prometheus", will be bringing in Michael Fassbender, reprising his role from "Prometheus," along with Katherine Waterston ("Inherent Vice"), Billy Crudup ("Watchmen"), Demian Bichir ("The Hateful Eight"), Danny McBride ("Eastbound & Down"), and James Franco ("Spring Breakers"), according to Gamespot.

Besides the trailer, we also get the official synopsis from the movie itself:

"The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape."

It looks like it's no joke that the cast themselves claim this movie will be spine-chilling. Earlier in July, actor Danny McBride even said that this would be "dark horror movie," despite his earlier known roles in other films always portray him as a comic relief. Michael Fassbender even claimed that Scott has returned "to the original DNA of Alien, the horror element of that."

Fassbender will be returning as the android David, but even more so as another android named Walter. "He is a machine," the actor said. "He is an incredible human being, and he was in such good form. He is such an imaginative and mischievous figure."

Reports say that Fassbender's multiple roles have been talked about for quite some time, but ever since its first confirmation, it has piqued the interest of fans. Accordingt to AvP Galaxy, the character Walter is a more up-to-date version of David's android model. What's worth noting is that the new android is reportedly somewhat mistrustful of the older model.

We can't wait to see the movie as it comes out. We already have at the edge of our seats as we the numerous tense moments, especially with the reported all-new neomorph emerging from the back of one of the human crew.

"Alien: Covenant" hits theaters on May 19, 2017.
