"Dying Light" developer Techland Studios recently received $1 million funding from the Polish National Centre for Research and Development's GameINN program to develop one of their newest projects. The game is described to be an open world fantasy game with role playing game (RPG) elements. According to the proposal that was approved, Techland is working on developing innovative technologies such as interaction with unusually sized opponents. While no specific details have been revealed, many websites are reporting that Techland is working on a game that will feature big monsters similar to that of "Shadow of the Colossus" or "Monster Hunter".

This new game along with another project is set to be released within the next few years, with a total budget reported at $77 million. The Warsaw team will be handling the fantasy game while the Wroclaw team will be handling the other project. The Vancouver based studio will also be providing support for both titles which are expected to have more success than "Dying Light". The game is said to feature single player and cooperative multiplayer though no other details have surfaced yet. Techland has confirmed that one of their previous games in development, "Hellraid" has been shelved for now and the company will be focused more on a "Dying Light" sequel rather than a new "Dead Island" game. According to Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka, their new titles have been in development for about a year and are expected to release within three years.

Techland isn't the only company that received funding from the Polish government. Other developers that were given funding include CD Projekt Red for their upcoming game "Cyberpunk 2077. "Lords of the Fallen 2" developer CI Games and "Painkiller" developer The Farm 51 also received funding. Over 40 games that are under development were given money through the program.

While there is very little detail about Techland's new project, more information will likely surface in 2017
