"Torment: Tides of Numenara" is still going on and we'll be seeing the different classes already just like seemingly magical Nano class.

According to Dualshockers, a new video was released by publisher Techland and developer inXile Entertainment for the upcoming RPG "Torment: Tides of Numenera" showcasing the sorcerer/wizard-like player class called the Nano.

Here's the official overview of the class: "Nanos are the sorcerers of the game, blessed with the ability to alter reality to gain an advantage over other character classes. Unlike the use of magic, however, Nanos have an innate ability to tap into ancient, advanced technology (known as Numenera) left by previous civilizations. As their defensive abilities are limited Nanos should be used as ranged characters where they can read the minds of their enemies, unleash a combination of ranged attacks and warp themselves (plus fellow party members) around the battlefield to gain a strategic edge."

Another report mentioned that the end of the video showed that the devs will eventually show two other classes from the game, that being the Jack and the Glaive.

Those who aren't familiar with the "Numenera" franchise, it was a fantasy campaign setting for the pen and paper game made by Monte Cook. The upcoming RPG by inXile will be run by the Unity engine, just like other RPG's like "Pillars of Eternity" and "Tyranny."

"Torment: Tides of Numenera" is considered a spiritual successor to "Planescape: Torment," an RPG based on the "Dungeons and Dragons" campaign of "Planescape." Like its predecessor, the upcoming game by inXile will be focus heavily on the story, immersing players on interacting with the world and a variety of characters, followed combat, item hunting, and gameplay mechanics.

"Torment: Tides of Numenera" (and "Numenera" campaign setting in general) is set in Earth in a far distant future (around billions of years in fact). And numerous civilizations have risen and fallen, leaving Earth in a somewhat medieval state, with mankind have begun living in simple settlements, surrounded by relics and oddities of the mysterious past called the "Numenera." These artifacts, while most of them across the globe are damaged beyond repair, have mysterious and mystical properties that beyond that of the normal human comprehension.

Back then, in the videogame role-playing world, players would get the early games like "Baldur's Gate," "Planescape: Torment" and even "Diablo." What did these games have in common? Besides the gameplay diversity and isometric view, players would enjoy the narrative heavy aspect of these games especially since they were very limited within their graphic constraints. It is still pleasant to see that games "Torment: Tides of Numenara" would still appeal to this kind of gameplay in spite of other hit titles like "Skyrim" and "Final Fantasy XV."

"Torment: Tides of Numenera" beta is out for PC through Steam Early Access, and is said to fully release also on the PS4 and Xbox One sometime in 2017. The game has been planned to exit Steam Early Access sometime on 2017, but players can play it now on $44.99.
