  • Tom Holland attended the Closing Night Screening of "The Lost City Of Z" for the 54th New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Oct. 15 in New York City.

"Spider-Man" lead Tom Holland is in talks to star opposite "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" actress Daisy Ridley in Lionsgate's adaptation of YA novel "Chaos Walking." "Edge of Tomorrow" director Doug Liman is being helmed on it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Holland would star as a boy named Todd Hewitt being forced to flee his town with his loyal dog in "Chaos Walking." Ridley plays the role of a strange-sight girl named Viola Eade.

"Chaos Walking" is an adaptation of the best-selling YA novel of the same name by the U.S.-born British novelist Patrick Ness, Variety reported. It takes place in a world where all women have been killed by a germ. As a result, all living creatures can hear the thoughts of one another in a stream of images, words, and sounds simply called noise.

"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" Oscar-winning screenwriter Charlie Kaufman and "Dear John" writer Jamie Linden worked on previous versions of the script for "Chaos Walking." "The Grudge" producer Doug Davison is producing the YA post-apocalyptic thriller alongside "The Hunger Games" executive producer Allison Shearmur.

Holland made his feature debut with the 2012 tsunami drama "The Impossible" and made a splashy superhero debut as the web-slinger Peter Parker in this year's "Captain America: Civil War."

Holland has become a hot name in Hollywood since landing the lead of the new "Spider-Man" franchise at Marvel and Sony. He can be seen next in his first standalone film, "Spider-Man: Homecoming," next summer.

Holland also recently landed one of the leads in The Weinstein Company's period drama "The Current War," alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon. He is represented by WME.

"Chaos Walking" is not yet received a greenlight or scheduled for a production start. It is still far on the horizon since Ridley, Holland, and Liman are still having busy schedules.
