"Beverly Hills" star Shannen Doherty has confirmed to join "Heathers" reboot on TV Land and shares the first photo. She may not be rocking those iconic shoulder pads, but she is still ready to rumble in a new behind-the-scenes photo.

According to Deadline, Doherty will play a pivotal unnamed character in the pilot "Heathers" reboot. She starred as Heather Duke in the original 1988 film "Heathers," upon which this new anthology series is based. She announced her involvement with the project by sharing an on-set photo on Instagram.

"Heathers" reboot will be set in the present day. It follows the heroine Veronica ("Under the Dome" actress Grace Victoria Cox) who deals with a very different but equally vicious group of Heathers. It is written by "Butter" Jason Micallef and directed by "Sleeping with Other People" Leslye Headland with Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi executive producing for Lakeshore Entertainment.

To recall, the original movie "Heathers" starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater as Veronica and J.D., respectively. They were just a couple of teens struggling to literally survive life in high school. Duke is one of the school's notorious mega-bitches, TV Line reported.

TV Land's version of "Heathers" is described as a dark comedy anthology that focuses on a new set of wicked Heathers and those looking to de-throne them. Doherty joins previously announced cast members including newcomer James Scully as J.D. and a trio of actors, namely, Brendan Scannell, Melanie Field, and Jasmine Matthews, as the Heathers.

Doherty is currently undergoing treatment for her breast cancer. She famously returned for The CW's "90210" Season 1. The series is a continuation of Beverly Hills, "90210," which made her a household name in the 1990s. Thus, "Heathers" is not her first time at the reboot or revival rodeo with her unnamed character that all TV Land will reveal soon.

"Heathers" reboot is currently in production in Los Angeles.
