Anta Sports launches a new Klay Thompson’s sneaker following his 60-points performance against the Pelicans. The shoes is a new colorway of the KT2 sneaker which has been worn by Thompson this season.
The new colorway of KT2 is called “Make it Rain” and sold at the price of $120, as reported by FootWear News. The sneaker is available from antaamerica.com
In its website, the Chinese sportwear company wrote the sneaker reflects Klay Thompson’s play with his shooting spree just like the smooth, steady, life-giving, yet destructive rain. The sneakers has a blue color gradient from cyan to navy blue with run from toe cap to the heel. The outsole has lightning graphic and a splatter pattern which resemble raindrops.
According to SLAM Online, the company compared the Golden State Warriors as the NBA version of perfect storm. Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant is the lightning, which provides the floor-shaking thunder. While Klay Thompson is the rain, hence the new version of the sneakers is KT2 “Make it Rain.”
Other elements of the shoes stay the same. Its high-traction outsole, injection heel and mid-foot support system still the same as the earlier version of KT2.
With the new addition of “Make it Rain” there are now three colorways for Thompson signature shoes. They are the “Blackhawks” with a black and blue accent with Anta logo in bright yellow. The other one is “Fadeaway” that boasts a white to dark grey gradient on the toe cap with black and white color.

Anta was founded in 1994 as a sportswear manufacturer and since 2007 the company has been listed as the public company in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Thompson signed with Anta in February 2015 after his contract with Nike expired. Anta is also the official shoes for other NBA stars Rajon Rondo, Chandler Parsons and Kevin Garnett before he retired.
