Good news is the highly-acclaimed "How to Train Your Dragon 2" will be having a sequel. The bad news is the film has once again been moved even further. "How To Train Your Dragon 3" will now be hitting theaters on Mar. 1, 2019.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dreamworks Animation officially announced the shift of schedule today. Even with the shift, "How To Train Your Dragon 3" still competes with "Captain Marvel" and "Godzilla 2" for the March 2019 schedule.

Another possible reason for the shift of schedule was due to the fact that Dreamworks Animation will be  changing partners again for the third film in the franchise. Just for everybody's information, the first "How to Train Your Dragon" was released under the studio's partnership with Paramount Pictures, while the second movie was joint effort from both Dreamworks Animation and 20th Century Fox.  Now, reports claim that "How To Train Your Dragon 3" will be a product of Dreamworks Animation's new corporate home, Universal Pictures, which may lead to speculations as to why the film has begun production yet.

IGN reports that director Dean DeBlois will be returning to helm the third film. Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) will be returning to join the adventure with cuddly but fierce dragon partner Toothless. Reprising their roles is America Ferrera as Astrid and Cate Blanchett returning as Valka.

Here's the official plot from Universal and Dreamworks Animation:

"As Hiccup fulfills his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia, Toothless' discovery of an untamed, elusive mate draws the Night Fury away. When danger mounts at home and Hiccup's reign as village chief is tested, both dragon and rider must make impossible decisions to save their kind."

Fans would only hope that this will be the final release date for "How To Train Your Dragon 3," as the film has been pushed back twice since its original June 17, 2016 premiere date.
