Android 7.0 Nougat update is slowly heading to all compatible devices. Tech giant Samsung has been reportedly rolling out the latest OS to the Galaxy A series phones soon.

Recently, it was announced on SamMobile  that Android 7.0 Nougat firmware will be deployed to Samsung Galaxy A series. It means that Samsung Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A9 and Galaxy A9 Pro will get to taste the update . However, its ETA was not specified on the announcement. It is expected that the final build will arrive in the second quarter of 2017 as the tech firm will prioritize flagship devices.

Meanwhile, Samsung S7 and S7 Edge are already in beta phase and will end mid-December. Registration to the program has been reopened for UK users, US users may access the beta phase in the coming week, and Asian countries, South Korea and China are already in the beta program.

According to tech enthusiasts, it's a bit of disappointment that Samsung devices are behind from deploying the update as other phone manufacturers like Xiaomi, LG, and HTC has already rolled out Nougat to its flagship devices.

As some phone manufacturers are still seeding the update, Android 7.1.1 Nougat will be dispatched via OTA to Nexus and Google Pixel devices. The latest build brings the improvement and stability of the OS and December security patch. The Nexus devices that will get the update are Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X, Pixel C and Nexus 6.

Samsung devices which are in the mid-range category are unlikely to receive the update. Although users of these devices have filed a petition to bring the update on Galaxy J5 and J7, Samsung has not officially responded to this request yet, Mobipicker reported.

The official release date of the Android 7.0 Nougat for Samsung devices are anticipated to be announced after the beta phase.
