Recent rumors have emerged that the Boston Celtics could offer Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson, Kelly Olynyk, and four future draft picks to the Indiana Pacers for All-Star forward Paul George.

Since last year, Boston is rumored to be looking for a legitimate superstar to add to its roster as the Celtics believe they are just one All-Star away from becoming a major contender in the Eastern Conference.

The team is currently third in the East with a 12-8 record, two games behind defending champions Cleveland Cavaliers and last season's Eastern finalists Toronto Raptors.

Despite the acquisition of four-time All-Star center Al Horford in the recent free-agency period, the club is still being mentioned in a lot of trade rumors involving some of the league's top superstars such as DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler, Kevin Love, and Blake Griffin.

One of the latest trade speculations about Boston is a trade scenario with the Pacers which includes Indiana's team leader Paul George.

HNGN indicated that the Celtics are ready to give up three players and four future picks just to acquire the former Fresno State standout. The report noted that even though the scenario looks unreasonable for Boston, the offer still "matches the value of George as a player".

Pacers president Larry Bird, himself a former Celtics player, will reportedly not allow George to be traded even for such a valuable package as the team is committed to building the team around him moving forward.

However, rumors are out that George is not planning to sign an extension with the Pacers despite Bird's assurance that he will remain as the team's franchise player. If the rumors are true, then Bird could think about the Celtics' offer, especially the multiple picks, which Indiana could use to rebuild or retool in the future.

Aside from the Celtics, George is also currently linked to the Los Angeles Lakers. Inquisitr reported that the Pacers are considering trading George to the Lakers for super-sub Jordan Clarkson and this year's second overall pick, Brandon Ingram, in an attempt to get their roster younger.
