Preview

New York is on a slide lately with two losses in a row after previously winning three straight games. They are 10th in the Eastern Conference standings at the moment, 5.5 games behind East leaders and defending champions Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Knicks are coming off a hard-fought 112-103 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night at their home court of Madison Square Garden, as per the New York Daily News.

Derrick Rose led New York with 30 points, seven rebounds, and four assists shooting 10-for-20 from the field and 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Carmelo Anthony struggled throughout the match and ended up with 18 points on 4-for-19 shooting.

Kristaps Porzingis contributed 21 points, five boards, two assists, two steals, and five blocked shots while Courtney Lee had 13 points, three rebounds, and two steals.

Meanwhile, the Wolves are also reeling after losing two straight games. The team has now lost five of their last six matches, dropping them to the third from the last place in the Western Conference standings.

Their last game was a similar 112-103 defeat to the Utah Jazz at their home court of Target Center on Monday night, Fox Sports reported.

All of Minnesota head coach Tom Thibodeau's starters scored in double-digits, but the issue for the Wolves at this point is their defense.

"It's very concerning from the standpoint of you want to be making progress," Thibodeau said after the game. "That's the important thing. Every day make progress, make progress. We didn't make progress today."

Zach LaVine top-scored for Minnesota with 28 points on 9-for-17 shooting. He also had eight rebounds and eight assists for an almost triple-double performance.

Karl-Anthony Towns netted 19 points and grabbed 12 boards while Andrew Wiggins struggled from the field as he went 6-for-16 for only 13 markers.

Prediction

The Knicks are a poor road team with a record of 1-6 so far this season. The Wolves are not a great home team as well with a 3-5 slate. Both teams are struggling at the moment, but the star power of New York could give them the win on the road. A close one for the Knicks is predicted.
