The X Box One arrives just in time for the holiday season, and will be competing against the Sony Playstation Four, which came out last week.

Microsoft will soon roll out the new Xbox One update. A whole new gaming experience is set to arrive as Occulus Rift streaming on the console is in the works too.

Although Microsoft has not announced what will be the changes that the Xbox One update will bring. Reports claim that the Guide Menu will be refreshed ad will more functionality. Aside from quick access to party creation, friends lists, achievements, and other important features, the new Guide menu will enable display pins while apps and games that appear on the menu can now be customized. Also, the double tap feature will be replaced by a single tap, Windows Central has learned from an internal source.

In addition, Snap app mode will be removed on the said update. Reportedly, the app was unable to be fully utilized and Universal Windows Platform apps are rejecting the feature. The said feature will then be replaced with a totally different feature. It is speculated to be a picture-in-picture app that players can hover while a game is in progress.

Aside from these changes, Occulus Rift owners will be able to stream games through their Xbox One. The Redmond tech giant has been reportedly working on this functionality. According to Ars Technica, with this update games can be streamed directly on the virtual headset. However, it was pointed out that players will not experience a VR gaming experience. Instead, it allows players to play on a huge virtual display. This feature is actually the same as to what Netflix is currently working on right now.

The update arrives on Occulus Rift PC update on December 12. As of the moment, minimum network requirements have not been announced yet. However, it is best to say that Ethernet will bring the best experience. The update will also let players select their different viewing modes Citadel," "Retreat," and "Dome."

In the coming days, players will definitely be treated with new features from the Xbox One and Occulus Rift update.
