Android 7.0 Nougat official release date to all Huawei Honor 8 is looming. Just a few days ago, the Chines tech company has released a beta to select users.

The beta build of the latest Android OS revealed the new EMUI 5.0 which currently runs on the Huawei Mate 9. It brings an overhauled user interface as it brings cleaner menus of white and blue, while applications are now easier to launch, according to Android Community .

On the other hand, Huawei announced last month that it will gradually release the latest Android OS to its devices. It is just logical for the Huawei Mate 8 to initially receive the first roll out of the update. Reports claim that Android 7.0 Nougat finally released as to date for the said device but it is not available via OTA yet.

Although it is not officially announced by the Chinese tech company, the update can now be downloaded on Huawei server. This means that users can head over to Huawei's officially website as the update will not appear automatically on their devices yet. Developers from XDA confirmed the legitimacy of the news and shared how it can be downloaded.

For users who wish to install Android 7.0 Nougat for their Huawei Mate ahead of the OTA roll out, here's a step by step guide. However, users must note that this process is technical and downloading the update will be at their own risk.

First, users of Huawei Mate 8 need to download update.zip and update_data_full_all_cn.zip files and copy these on the external storage. After which, download the stock firmware and extract files by using the update.app, Then again, download SRKToolHuawei-Lod-Chong-V2.0-20161002.zip, and then unlock bootloader/TWRP/ROOT. Here's a guide on how to unlock bootloader courtesy of the XDA team and the final steps can be found on the XDA forums.

This procedure is technical. So, it is still safer to wait for the official Android 7.0 Nougat release date for the Huawei devices.
