Hallyu star Yoona of the girl group Girls’ Generation was recently chosen to host of the upcoming 2016 Women in Film Awards.

According to a report by All Kpop, Yoona will be the sole master of ceremony of this year’s Women in Film Awards wherein she will present the notable female actresses and filmmakers who made a mark in the industry last year. The news agency added that the night of recognition will take place at ARTNINE in Seoul on December 7.

Meanwhile, Yoona was recently featured by Yonhap News following the ending of the “The K2”. During the talk, the KPop idol opened up about her progress as an artist before and after her latest drama series.

"I wanted to present a different side of me than the side that I've shown before, and I think I achieved that goal. There are many scenes I wish I could re-do because I can do a better job...When I am filming, I feel like I did okay, but when I monitor later, it is not as good as I thought,” Yoona stated as quoted by All Kpop.

At the end of the interview, Yoona further said: "I have more passion, fun, and curiosity about acting than before. Working and getting energy from sunbaes while filming also made my acting spectrum bigger. Also, since this was a project after 2-3 years of break, my thirst for acting was bigger than before. I think my attitude towards acting has changed."

Yoona has recently received the “Asia Star Award” from the prestigious 2016 Asia Artist Awards. Aside from her, “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” star Park Bo Gum as well as K-pop group EXO also received the said recognition.
