Naughty Dog just released a trailer detailing their upcoming new content for "Uncharted 4" this December. The content is free and will feature a new cooperative game mode called Survival. The game pits up to three people against waves of enemies in increasing difficulty. The game can be played solo, and is based on the "Uncharted 3" Co-op Arena mode.

According to a report, Naughty Dog built the core mechanics of the game based on Arena mode but added in more variety and challenge. Survival mode will feature a dedicated progression system and upgradable arsenal.

In Survival Mode, players will have to survive a total of 50 waves of enemies ranging from mercenaries, armored foes, and much more. Every 10 waves, a boss will appear in the form of the legendary pirates mentioned in the game's campaign, though touching more on a mystical aspect. It will even feature a flaming Henry Avery which hopes to prove challenging for players.

Another famous pirate boss in the mode is Adam Baldridge who has a Djinn at his disposal. Aside from surviving the waves, players will also be given objectives to complete with modifiers being randomly put into increase the variety in gameplay. Some of the objectives that players will have to complete include collecting treasures, defending certain areas, or taking out specific enemies.

Throughout the mode, players will be able to gain resources to buy better items and Survival is also set to have its own system separate from other multiplayer modes. However, enemies will also try to adapt to the upgrades while those wanting a harder challenge can try their hand in Hard Mode or Crushing Mode. Survival Mode will also feature 10 different maps which will have players changing their strategies depending on the location.

Naughty Dog plans to continue supporting the game in the next year, with new content planned to be released in every season. Some of the additional content will include more aesthetic gear, skins, weapons, and possibly more game modes. "Uncharted 4" Survival Mode is set to release during early December and the game is available on the PlayStation 4.
