Preview

Toronto has snapped a two-game losing run to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors by beating the Denver Nuggets in overtime, 113-111, on the road at the Pepsi Center last Friday, as per NBC Sports' Pro Basketball Talk.

DeMar DeRozan was again head coach Mike Malone's best player during the match with 30 points on 12-for-25 shooting. He also had five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. His backcourt partner, Kyle Lowry, also had a big game with a double-double of 18 points and 13 assists together with five boards.

Jonas Valanciunas had 15 points, nine rebounds, and one assist while DeMarre Carroll chipped in 11 points, three boards, and one steal.

With the win, the Raptors avoided a third straight loss as the team is now clinging in the third spot of the Eastern Conference Standings behind East leaders Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks.

Meanwhile, the Kings are currently on a four-game losing slide after winning two straight games. The team dropped to 12th place in the Western Conference standings as a result.

In their most recent game on Friday night, Sacramento was defeated by West leaders Los Angeles Clippers, 121-115, also at their home court of Golden 1 Center, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The Kings almost pulled off a come-from-behind victory after trailing by 19 points at the start of the final period, but their comeback run just fell short. Sacramento managed to trim the gap to as close as two points, 117-115, with only 2:03 left in the clock, but the team never scored again.

DeMarcus Cousins had a monster game with 38 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and one block, but he did not have enough support to pull off the win.

Ty Lawson had 18 points, six boards, and eight assists but Rudy Gay struggled in the game as he was limited to only nine points on 3-for-11 shooting.

Prediction

Toronto is a force on the road with a 4-1 record this season while the Kings have struggled in their new home court with a 2-4 home slate so far. A second consecutive win for the Raptors is predicted.
