The Atlanta Hawks (9-3) and New York Knicks (5-7) face each other at the Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Nov. 20 in a 2016-2017 NBA season match.

Atlanta's six-game winning run was snapped by the Charlotte Hornets, 100-96, at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Friday in a game that saw Hawks center Dwight Howard get ejected, as per USA Today.

The Hawks were leading by three points, 89-86, when Howard was sent off the court in the 5:38 mark of the fourth period after he lost his cool and threw an elbow on Hornets center Cody Zeller. Charlotte then went on a 9-0 run to completely overtake Atlanta and hand them their first loss in seven games.

Paul Millsap led the squad with 22 points and 13 rebounds while Kent Bazemore had 19 points, two boards, two assists, three steals, and two blocks in a losing effort.

Howard fired 10 points but managed to haul down 18 rebounds before he was thrown out of the contest. Starting point guard Dennis Schroder chipped in 11 points and five assists.

"It wasn't like I tried to hit him in the face, but my job is to protect my house - at all costs," Howard told reported after the match. "I am making no apologies for it."

Meanwhile, the Knicks have also snapped a two-game winning streak after they dropped a 119-112 game to the struggling Washington Wizards on the road at the Verizon Center on Thursday, NBC New York reported.

Derrick Rose scored 27 points, grabbed two rebounds, and dished off four assists to lead head coach Jeff Hornacek's squad. Carmelo Anthony added 19 points, three boards, and three assists while Kristaps Porzingis had 16 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and four steals.

The Knicks failed to get in the .500 mark with the loss as they dropped to the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Prediction

Atlanta is 3-2 on the road this season while New York is 4-2 at the Garden so far. Howard and the Hawks are predicted to bounce back from their previous lackluster performance and pull off a win against the Knicks.
