The "Total War" series has been one of the most revolutionary historical real-time strategies around, combining careful tactics and amassing huge armies at your command.  Developer Creative Assembly has even explored new areas by incorporating the well-known tabletop game "Warhammer" into the series with "Total War: Warhammer." Now, the studio might try another approach back to the game's historical roots as they would attempt "an era [they] haven't tackled yet."

According to Eurogamer, brand director Rob Bartholomew stated that they would be working on another title with an era never before tackled, along with creative director Mike Simpson. What that could be no one knows yet. Reports say that the unannounced game is currently in pre-production at the moment.

In the past, the "Total War" series have spanned different eras of history that often involved epic-scaled battles in fields, with numerous different armies at your militaristic beck and call. These eras include feudal Japan, the Roman republic, and medieval Europe, as well as the Napoleonic Wars and the American Revolutionary War.

It shouldn't be a problem for developer studio Creative Assembly since it has at least five separate internal development teams. According to Gamespot, the studio is currently working on two sequels to "Total War: Warhammer." On the other hand, the UK-based studio is also currently trying to finish developing "Halo Wars 2."

Speaking of "Total War: Warhammer," no release date has been announced yet. But a trailer of the game did tease that it is "coming soon" to PC, Mac and SteamOS.
