Preview

New York is currently on a two-game winning run thanks to a couple of excellent games from sophomore power forward Kristaps Porzingis.

In their last game on Wednesday, Porzingis led the Knicks to a 105-102 victory over the Detroit Pistons at the Madison Square Garden, as per CBS Local New York.

The 21-year-old Latvian scored a career-high 35 points, hauled down seven rebounds, dished off three assists, and had one steal and one block to save head coach Jeff Hornacek's squad from getting their seventh loss this season.

It was the first 30-point game in Porzingis' young two-year professional career as he shot 13-for-22 from the field, including a 3-for-7 stint from beyond the arc, and 6-for-7 shooting from the foul line.

"He's figuring everything out," said teammate Derrick Rose. "Like, he's going out here scoring 30 and he really don't know the NBA yet."

Rose had 15 points, five boards, three assists, and one block while Carmelo Anthony contributed 22 points, five rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

"You see the whole package tonight," head coach Jeff Hornacek said. "He was inside, he was outside. I thought he was great."

Meanwhile, the Wizards are reeling with three consecutive losses as they are presently tied with the Miami Heat in the 13th spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Washington lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, 109-102, on the road at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday to drop to their fifth loss in their last six matches, SB Nation reported.

Team leader John Wall led the Wizards with 27 points, four rebounds, six assists, and one steal while three other starters scored in double figures, namely Markieff Morris, Otto Porter Jr., and Marcin Gortat who had 19, 15, and 10 points respectively.

Wall's backcourt partner, Bradley Beal, is out for the Wizards for the third straight game with an injured right hamstring and remains day-to-day for head coach Scott Brooks.

Prediction

The Knicks are 1-4 in away games this season while the Wizards are 2-2 at home. However, without Beal, Washington is no match for the streaking Knicks and is expected to have another big game from Porzingis. A lopsided New York win is predicted.
