Raven-Symoné has announced that she will be leaving her daytime talk show "The View" and will be back at the arms of her Disney family with a "That’s So Raven" sequel for the Disney Channel. In fact, the actress/television host is relocating from New York, where she tapes "The View", back to Los Angeles to work on the family sitcom.

Deadline reported that Raven will reprise her title role of Raven Baxter in the hit Disney comedy, which she will also serve as executive producer. It could be remembered that the supernatural teen sitcom has been a staple at Disney Channel from 2003 to 2007.

"That’s So Raven" is Disney Channel’s first original multi-camera sitcom and a breakout hit for the network. It made ratings records with its January 2003 premiere and ran for four seasons and 100 episodes. The series was even nominated in 2005 and 2007 for Emmy Awards for Outstanding Children's Programming.

On the sequel, Raven Baxter is no longer a teenage girl, of course. She is all grown up and a divorced mother to two pre-teen kids. TV Line reported that Raven will have a "bold, confident, and driven" teen daughter named Nia and a younger "true innocent" son, Booker, who's "in no rush to grow up." One of her kids will be fortunate enough to inherit her gift of having glimpses of the future.

This has been the strategy of Disney in introducing to younger viewers reboot of its old successful shows. In fact, the popular TGIF sitcom "Boy Meets World" had for its sequel series, "Girl Meets World" in which the title character from the original series also has kids of his own.
