The "Metro" franchise isn't just some post-apocalyptic themed title that doesn't stand out from others like the "Fall Out" series. Authored by Dmitry Glukhovsky, the series tell of the protagonist Artyom and journey on and under Post-Apocalyptic Moscow and engrossing storyline of the struggles he had to go through. Now in the world of gaming, the "Metro" series also produced two games. Now, with a third entry in the main novel series, another game has already been set in motion.

According to the actual website for "Metro," the next game is set to release next year after the final book of the series, "Metro 2035." The site features a timeline of the release dates of the "Metro's" books and video games, including the events of each one.  The next "Metro" game is set for a 2017 release.

"It all adds up to something," reads the description in the website. "Where the books end their story, the game will pick it up. An era of great discoveries lies ahead."

The game is said to be taking place after the latest novel "Metro 2035," which will be released this holiday for the English version.

Based on an article from Gamespot, the last game, "Metro: Last Light" was released back in 2013. The game was critically-acclaimed getting favorable reviews, like 9/10 in Gamespot.

"Last Light is notably superior to its predecessor, merging storytelling, shooting, and sneaking into a remarkable and cohesive whole," according to Critic Kevin VanOrd. "And through this harmony of game design comes the caustic dissonance of a world so torn asunder that a single possibility can bring with it endless hope."

Developer Deep Silver just released the latest entry after "Last Light," being the remastered editions of both "Metro 2033" and "Last Light" for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The collection was called "Metro Redux."
