Entertainment Weekly reported Ashley Tisdale will not be returning to reprise her role as Sharpay Evans in "High School Musical 4." The actress also thought Disney has its way to produce the new installment even without some of the old cast members.
""High School Musical" didn't make us, we made "High School Musical" because of our friendship, how close we were, and the magic there at the time. Disney is an amazing company so I'm sure they'll find some way to do it," Tisdale said.
Moreover, there are also rumors claiming Taylor Swift will be joining the lineup of "High School Musical 4." The unconfirmed reports surfaced after the "High School Musical" executives announced they are open for new individuals to join the casting.
It can be remembered that the "Love Story" singer was rumored to be dating Efron after her breakup with Tom Hiddleston. Could it be that Swift will be replacing Hudgens in "High School Musical 4?"
According E! Online, producers of the musical film are looking for five new leads who will take the roles of a soccer player, a bad boy dancer, a jock or a theatre nerd, a cheerleader, and a fallen queen bee.
"High School Musical 4" will introduce the character of Erin, who is a soccer player, playing for an all-boy team; and Derek, who is described as a bad boy who will fall for Erin.
